Medtronic is further expanding its presence in Galway with a $30m investment that will see it grow its workforce in the city by 200. These roles will support the development of products and services in the coronary artery, heart valve and peripheral vascular disease, heart arrhythmia and pacing, hypertension and spinal injury areas.
Medtronic opens largest R&D centre outside US in Hyderabad. The Centre aims to recruit 1,000 employees. The centre conducts advanced engineering R&D and product development work in the areas of design, analysis, hardware, software development and testing in the MedTech space.
Medtronic acquires Digital Surgery, a British company developing artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital education and training software for computerized surgery. With the acquisition, Medtronic will integrate Digital Surgery’s AI- and data-driven techniques into its laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery technologies.
